CREATE Medical Student Scholars

ABOUT

The CREATE Medical Scholars is a unique program for MS1 students at UC San Diego’s School of Medicine that offers additional training in cancer and cancer health disparities topics via a summer research and shadowing experience with a diverse multidisciplinary cohort of cancer providers within the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center.



PROGRAM BENEFITS

  • Receive a $5,000 stipend to work on a summer-long cancer-related research experience.
  • Shadow cancer providers in the UC San Diego Moores Cancer Center.
  • Receive funding to present your research at a national conference.
  • Present your research at the UCSD SOM Annual Summer Research Symposium.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Students must:

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
  • Be an MS1 student at UC San Diego’s School of Medicine.
  • Have an interest in cancer and cancer health disparities.


APPLICATION

We will recruit our next cohort of CREATE Medical Student Scholars in the Winter Quarter of 2025 via the UCSD Medical School.
